About Jean
Jean Marie is a contemporary artist living and working in the Pacific Northwest. Throughout her life she has been fascinated with people. Jean believes every individual has a story worth telling, and strives to represent those stories in her paintings.
“Exploring the human condition offers endless opportunities for creativity. A broad range of emotion lives in all of us; a conflict between loneliness and kinship, sadness and joy, fear and courage, to name a few. Put simply, I paint a person’s story.”
“I believe it’s important to have some fun with art. The Tea Party made me laugh, and that’s always a good thing. The Pink Horse is another painting that makes absolutely no sense, and it doesn’t need to. If a piece of art speaks to you, evokes an emotion, (or even matches your couch!) why not just enjoy it?”
